Readathon, Scavenger Hunt & Comment Challenge

For the first month of 2023, SHINee AO3 wants to bring some joy to our amazing authorwols, of which, we, readers and fest runners would simply have nothing to work with.We will be celebrating this month by encouraging the commenting on fics and reading old fics in the SHINee ficdom and give authors a surprise at the start of the New Year.

For this event, every day you will be given three different prompts to hunt for on the Archive, to read and - with great encouragement from us - to comment on.You could do this whatever way you wish - if there are, for example, five prompts, you could read five fics, you could combine 3-4 prompts into one fic you find, you could read 2 and comment on old fics you've been meaning to comment on in the past - do it however you wish!You could also simply do one prompt a day and not all of them, or only do the comment challenge, and etc - whatever works for you!We know some authors may like a challenge as well - if they wish, they may use whatever prompt they can from the daily prompts to write a fanfiction and share it; if there's interest, we will create an AO3 collection and share all content!The topics can be found below!

  • A topic to read on - e.g. a Jonghyun ship, or a specific theme, or a genre

  • A "scavenger" prompt - e.g. read a fic from 2015, find a fic with a specific tag

  • A comment challenge - e.g. comment on two different fictions

Please remember - there is a lot of SHINee content out there! We've only been able to add a handful of ships, characters, etc to these prompts as there's only 31 spaces. All ships were picked by a randomiser and those picked for this round will be dropped from the randomiser next event to ensure all content has a chance to shine!

The prompts can be found below. Each day they will go live on the Twitter thread at 00:00KST and updated here daily. We will share recommendations and etc on Twitter and bookmark them on our AO3 for all visitors of our AO3 to find them!

We will be creating a bookmark for each fic mentioned on our thread for the event with the tag "SHINee Fic Readathon" - if any authors post anything, please also use this tag in your Additional Tags.
This will make us adding them to the AO3 Collection {should we create one} easier in the future for us.There are currently no event specific links other than our Twitter thread which will be linked below! Any further informational links will be updated here as soon as possible
